To make it easier to understand each step, we've made a video tutorial. These tutorials are currently only available in french and for iOS. English, Dutch and Android tutorials will follow.

πŸ•΅οΈ Download OsmAnd and the offline map

  1. Search for OsmAnd in your app store.

  2. Download and open the app

  3. Click on the menu

  4. Go to "Maps & Resources"

  5. Click on Europe > Belgium

  6. Download the map of Belgium.

Downloading a map is very interesting for slow travellers because you don't data to navigate. This means that your phone can be in a plane mode the whole time. Pretty amazing, right?

πŸ“ Add GPX to OsmAnd

For the video tutorial, click here.

  1. Click on the GPX file, which you have received with your Slowby roadbook.

  2. Click on the 'forward' symbol on the right.

  3. Open the GPX with OsmAnd

  4. The GPX will show on your OsmAnd map. At the bottom you can see the overview of your trip: amount of kilometers and how much ascent/descent.

  1. Click on the earth symbol

  2. Click on POI Overlay

  3. Chose which symbols you'd like to see.

Wikipedia articles

  1. Click on the earth symbol

  2. Tick the button "Wikipedia"

  3. Every Wikipedia article that has a location will appear on your map.

  4. Click on a Wikipedia symbol

  5. Get immediate access to the article. How awesome is this?
